The Social Weather Stations has revealed that 70 percent of Filipinos are alarmed and worried about the increasing number of Chinese workers in the country.
More than 50 percent also said Chinese workers can be considered as national security threat.
In its September 27 to 30 survey of 1,800 respondents, 54 percent said that they have little trust with China, 21 percent said they had much trust with the East Asian giant.
This resulted in “bad” net trust of -33, down by 9 points from the “poor” -24 in June 2019.
This is the lowest trust rating of China since last year’s -35 ratings.
The low trust ratings come even as the Duterte administration is building close relationship with China amid maritime dispute.
