Returning Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) can now apply for technical-vocational (tech-voc) courses offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) upon their arrival at international airports in the Philippines.
OFWs can apply for the TESDA courses through the OFW desks set up at different international airports in the country such as the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
OFWs can ask for the different courses offered by TESDA at the desks and once decided, they will receive a referral for the skills training. They can also renew their National Certificate (NC) and Certificate of Competency (COC) at the desks.
According to TESDA, among the courses available for OFWs include tourism, infrastructure, land transportation courses, metals and engineering, and information and communications technology. Other courses and fields offered by TESDA include automotive, healthcare services, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration, language and culture, processed food and beverages, and semiconductor and electronics courses.
Aside from the free tuition, enrollees will also receive Php160 allowance daily, instructional materials allowance, free lodging, free insurance, and free tool kits.
