The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the Media Regulatory has issued a warning against streaming platform Netflix over some inappropriate content.
The statement comes after Netflix showed some content that violated the policies or guidelines of media broadcasting in UAE.

“The Netflix platform was contacted to remove this content, especially the offending content directed at children, and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the Media Regulatory Office will follow up on what the platform broadcasts during the coming period, and the extent of its commitment to broadcasting controls in the UAE,” the regulators said in a statement.
The authorities are now giving Netflix due process to comply with the guidelines of broadcast industry in UAE said.
Some Gulf countries also made the same moves against Netflix.

In a statement issued by Gulf Cooperation Council they said that some specified programs “contradict Islamic and societal values and principles.”
Saudi Arabia also warned that Netflix could be banned in their country if the issues will not be addressed.
