The Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has appointed Raphael Perpetuo Lotilla as Department of Energy secretary, Malacañang said Monday.
Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles announced this in a statement on Monday saying, “ The President has designated a new Energy Secretary, Raphael Perpetuo Lotilla.”

Lotilla first served as Energy chief from 2005-2007 under the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, a known ally of Marcos, and he also served as president of the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation and deputy director-general of the National Economic Development Authority.
Lotilla is also a law professor in the University of the Philippines where he earned his Bachelor of Laws degrees and is an independent director of Aboitiz Power and also of Enexor.
