The camp of presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos is rejecting the offer of Vice President Leni Robredo for a debate.
Robredo made the call as she pointed out that Marcos is the only presidential candidate to not participate in a debate attended by all the other candidates.
“Sa puntong ito, isang kandidato na lang ang hindi pa humaharap sa taumbayan sa isang debate kasama ang lahat ng ibang kandidato. Mahalaga sana ito para masuri kami ng publiko, at para marinig nila at mapagkumpara ang vision at pagkatao namin,” Robredo said.

In a statement, Marcos spokesperson Vic Rodriguez reiterates that the one-on-one debate will not happen.
“Nauunawaan ko ang kabiguang nararamdaman ni Ginang Robredo na makaharap sa isang pagtatalo at paghaharap si presidential frontrunner Bongbong Marcos,” Rodriguez said.
“Positibong pangangampanya at walang paninira ang gabay ng UniTeam Bongbong Marcos,” he added.
The spokesperson adds that the debate won’t happen.
“Sa debate na hamon kay Bongbong Marcos ay hindi kailanman mangyayari,” ’he added.

Robredo said that both she and Marcos owe it to the people and the country.
“We owe it to the people and to our country. Kung papayag po kayo, anytime, anywhere, darating ako,” she said.
Marcos is a frequent debate skipper except for the debate organized by SMNI which is owned by FBI most wanted Apollo Quiboloy.
