The schools in Sharjah will observe a 3-day weekend from Friday to Sunday.
A directive in this regard was issued by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

The working hours in private educational institutions in the Emirate have been modified to four working days from Monday to Thursday. The weekend will be observed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from January 1, 2022. On Instagram,
Sharjah Public Education Authority said, “SPEA announces the adoption of the new schedule for all Sharjah private educational institutions starting January 1, 2022. Further details will be announced in the coming days.”

This came after Sharjah Executive Council changed the weekly work schedule in all government entities in the emirate to switch to four working days from Monday to Thursday and the weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The official working hours of government entities have been changed to 7:30 in the morning to 3:30 in the afternoon from January 1, 2022. (AW)
