Filipinos in the UAE who are waiting for flights back to the Philippines can now book one of five special commercial flights via Emirates.

In an email to The Filipino Times, an Emirates spokesperson confirmed that the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Philippines has allowed the following flight dates for the second half of August, as follows:

– August 19
– August 21
– August 25
– August 26
– August 28

“Emirates has obtained the approval from the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines to operate Special Commercial flights in August, for the purpose of repatriating citizens of the Philippines from the UAE. The airline will be operating special flights on 19, 21,25, 26 and 28 August, as of today, and any additional flights planned will be communicated when available,” according to the spokesperson from Emirates.

The airline further explained that only Filipino citizens here in the UAE will be allowed to book their seats.

“Only Filipino citizens currently in the UAE will be eligible to book seats on special flights, which are limited due to capacity restrictions imposed by the Philippines authorities,” read the statement.

Emirates reminds Filipinos of the following requirements that they have to secure prior to their flight:

• All passengers must register and accomplish the e-HDC as mandated by the Bureau of Quarantine.
• All passengers must present a negative RT-PCR result, taken 48 hours prior to boarding.
• A 14-day facility-based quarantine, with the date of arrival being the first day, will be applicable to all passengers.
