The UAE government has advised residents to take both doses of vaccine before traveling abroad this summer.
Dr. Farida Al Hosani, the official spokesperson for the UAE health sector, warned residents about the greater risk of infection in traveling abroad without taking the two COVID-19 jabs. She also told the public to continue avoiding crowded places, and continue wearing masks, and maintaining physical distancing. To date, the UAE has given the COVID-19 vaccine to over 71 percent of the total population, which represents 91.8 percent of the eligible category.
While the vaccine does not totally prevent people from being affected by the virus, it has been proven effective in reducing infection rates, hospital admissions, intensive care rates, and death. (AW)
