Guam has opened its doors to offer COVID-19 vaccines to foreign travelers, to boost its pandemic-hit tourism.
Officials on Monday launched the marketing campaign “Air V&V Guam USA” – which stands for “vaccination and vacation” – for American expatriates and other non-American travelers.
It comes after the Department of Public Health and Social Services approved the Air V&V program and issued the seven-page standard operating procedure.

Guam Visitors Bureau’s Director of Global Marketing Nadine Leon Guerrero said: “Air V&V is now open to everyone, not just expats.”
Under the vaccine tourism program, anyone who wants to visit Guam to get vaccinated against COVID-19 needs to book in advance a full travel package including hotel stay, transportation to and from the airport so they will get eligible for COVID-19 vaccination.
The traveler can stay on the Pacific island for a minimum of three days up to 32 days or more depending on the vaccine brand of choice.

Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association President Mary Rhodes said Air V&V Guam USA packages range from $150 to $350 per night of hotel stay.
Meanwhile, booking mechanisms are still being worked on.
Guam has so far fully vaccinated at least 90,650 individuals, some 6,000 shy of the target 96,000 to reach herd immunity. (RA)
