A 30-year-old unemployed Arab man dressed up as a woman cop and beat up an Asian man before robbing him of AED 6,700 in his own car in Al Rigga, Dubai
The Arab was arrested by police for impersonating an undercover police officer in women’s attire and also committing the robbery.

Police investigations stated that the victim had gone in his car at late night to a payment kiosk machine when the impersonator suddenly entered the vehicle and sat in the passenger seat next to him.
Assuming the robber was a woman since he was dressed like one, the victim was then shocked to hear a male voice saying “I will let you know who I am” and displaying a white card with a police logo on it.

Afraid that the robber may be an undercover police officer, the victim followed his instructions in driving to a dark side street and parted with his wallet – from which the Arab took out all the money and asked him to drive away. When the victim demanded his money back, he was punched twice instead.
The victim stated that half the stolen amount belonging to his friend. He admitted that he had been afraid to resist the robber as he thought the defendant was an undercover police officer. (AW)
