Cabanatuan’s ‘Plantita’ community ‘pan-tree’ gives free vegetable seedlings to public

Another unique community pantry has caught the attention of netizens, especially for Filipino plant enthusiasts known as ‘plantitos’ and ‘plantitas’.

Cabanatuan’s Barangay Mabini Extension provided over 3,000 seedlings of various vegetables and plants together with other staple items such as groceries, rice, and other fresh harvests.

Barangay Chairman Myra Capinpin along with the community spearheaded the drive as part of the celebrations of International Earth Day for the month of April.

The community pantry trend first started at Maginhawa, where Filipinos could take items they need and give back items they have in excess to help other fellow Filipinos.
