The Philippine government has already made its partial payment to China’s Sinovac vaccine, according to vaccine czar Carlito Galvez.
Galvez said that the country paid 15 percent of the Php700 million procurement price for 1 million doses of the vaccine.

The government will pay the remaining 85 percent once the vaccines arrive on March 28.
“Meron tayong binayaran na sa Sinovac kasi meron tayong purchase agreement, we already paid, wired the money ‘yung 15 percent,” Galvez said.
“Once na prepared na, kasi ang delivery date natin is March 28, so ibibigay na natin yung another 85 percent. More or less ang ibabayad natin is P700 million,” he added in an interview on CNN Philippines.

Galvez said that the government is expecting 2 million more doses of Sinovac vaccine.
The Chinese government has so far donated one million COVID-19 vaccines. 400,000 more vaccines will be given to the Philippines by end of March. (TDT)
