Learning, entertainment centers opened in Jeddah for kids of distressed OFWs

A learning room and toy library was opened in Jeddah in an effort to give cater to the children of Overseas Filipino Workers.
The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah in cooperation with the Office of the Social Welfare Attache and the Jeddah-based teachers’ organization, Philippine International School Teachers Association (PISTA), recently inaugurated the first-ever Child-Minding Room and Toy Library for babies/children of female wards at the Bahay Kalinga and consular clients.

The Consulate said that Child-Minding Room and Toy Library provides a safe, secure and healthy space where the children can develop their social, emotional and communication skills while waiting for their parents. It is equipped with children’s books, educational toys, learning tools, board games, stuffed toys, and tables and chairs. The area also serves as a breast-feeding and changing room for the babies of the Consulate’s clients.
The Consulate Child-Minding Room and Toy Library is located at the 2nd Floor, Building 4 of the Consulate General, right beside the Office of the Social Welfare Attaché.
