Saudi Arabia has announced that the H5N8 outbreak originated in Riyadh, Saudi Press Agency reported.
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has identified a poultry farm in Horaimilah as the epicenter of the said virus. However, they said it cannot be transmitted to humans.
The ministry said it already has field emergency teams working to contain the virus, killing around 35,000 birds that had been in contact with the infected ones.

The ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Abal Khail said that this virus does not pose a threat to the public as it cannot be transmitted to humans.
The farmers around Saudi are urged to be vigilant and responsible for the preventive measures needed to be done when dealing with birds. They are also advised not to import new ones until the virus is contained.
