Saudi Arabia has asserted its passion to promote a culture of peace, tolerance, and dialogue at a forum in New York last September 15 Saudi Gazette reported.
Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Dr. Khalid Muhammad Manzalawi said in a speech that the kingdom is committed to the principles of the UN Charter through its efforts based on three main pillars: justice, development, and human rights protection.
In a report by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, Manzalawi said the kingdom would take every action that would promote the culture of peace and tolerance.
The deputy permanent representative said this include empowering women and stimulating the role of the youth in Saudi’s development march. It has also activated the goals of sustainable development through its regional and international partnerships that highlight social responsibility.
One of its successful initiatives was Saudi’s contritubion to ending the state of war between Ethiopia and Eritrea—which ended differences and severed relations for 20 years.
Saudi Gazette also reported that Manzalawi also talked about the kingdom’s efforts in countering terror and violence, saying “At the national level, the Kingdom carried out many security and awareness programs to counter extremism and fortify the future generation from these ideologies.”
Manzalawi also urged other countries to instill values of tolerance and renounce discrimination among cultures and races.
