The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) said that expats leaving on a final exit visa can still enter Saudi Arabia on a new one, Saudi Gazette reported.
This statement was made following rumors that expats will now be barred from returning to the kingdom for three years once they leave.
“Anyone who has left on a final exit visa on a regular basis, without any remarks against him, has the right to return on a new visa,” the Saudi Gazette quoted directorate’s statement as saying.
The Jawazat added for the delay in the renewal of a residency permit or iqama, there would only be a fine executed three days after the expiry date. Deportation would only occur if it happens for the third time.
The directorate further noted that the system allows the renewal of the residency permit of expatriates, even if family members are outside Saudi. This is provided that the head of the family is in the Kingdom during the renewal process.
