The Philippine Consulate General and the Office of the Social Welfare Attaché announced the extension of the deadline for accepting nominations to the 2019 Huwarang Overseas Pamilya Pilipino Award (HOPPA) to August 31.

HOPPA is an award-giving body that recognizes the best overseas Filipino families and solo parents in the Western Region of the Kingdom. It is held every September, in line with the National Family Week.

The awards is open to every OFW family and solo parent living in Jeddah and the Western Region for at least five years, and any OFW or Filipino community organization in the area may nominate. The nominees must also not have any criminal record in the home and the host country.

The nomination should also include a write-up about the nominee, copies of awards or certificates won if any, marriage certificate and birth certificate of the child/children, photos engaging in community and extra-curricular activities, and NBI or police clearance for the parents.

The HOPPA awarding ceremonies is tentatively set on September 20. The winners will be afterwards required to assist in the consulate’s efforts in promoting positive Filipino values in the Western Region of Saudi.

The Philippine Consulate in Jeddah and Office of the Social Welfare Attaché encourages everyone in the Kingdom to nominate their favorite Filipino family or single parent now.
