The craze of online gaming has spread rapidly through social media, giving a rise in numbers of Filipino streamers sharing their skills, tips, and funny moments online with their friends and fans.
Among these streamers is Edgar Dumali, also known as ChooxTV who recently earned enough money from his supporters and ads from his video gaming streams to purchase his dream home in South Cotabato for his family.
Dumali recalls that prior to online streaming, his family would shift from one house to another, depending on the nature of his dad’s work.
“Palipat-lipat kami ng tinitirahan dahil iyong Papa ko iba-ibang trabaho pinapasok. May mga panahong minsan kinakain namin mga kamote na lang,” said Dumali in an episode of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho”.

The Mobile Legends streamer also recalled that while his siblings helped him get to school, he got addicted to gaming but eventually found a way to prove that his skills in-game can be monetized and help his family earn money as well.
But even as Dumali already found popularity in his Facebook streams, he hit another low when Angel, his wife and their children left Dumali due to excessive gaming.
“Dumating sa punto na iniwan namin siya. Umalis kami nang hindi nagpaalam kasi, napapabayan niya na kami pati ng anak niya. Wala na siyang oras sa amin,” revealed Angel.

Dumali then realized the importance of his family and juggled his priorities. Three years later, all his earnings and sacrifices have funded his dream home. He thanks his fans and followers for all the support they have given him through the years.
“Sa lahat ng mga followers ko, maraming-maraming salamat po sa inyo lahat. Kung hindi dahil sa inyo, hindi ako magkakaroon ng bahay,” said Dumali.
ChooxTV also advised those who wish to enter the Facebook online gaming and streaming scene to do it in moderation: “So kung may magandang maidudulot yung pag-i-stream natin, meron ding masama pag sobra. So kailangan po natin ’tong limitahan, i-control po natin.”
