Filipinos express joy, gratitude for UAE with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed's message of hope this Ramadan

Almost a million Filipinos in the UAE were pleasantly surprised as they, among with millions of other expats and citizens of the UAE, have received a heartwarming message from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces who relayed the message of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the spirit of the Ramadan season in the country.
The message centers on the UAE leadership’s message of unity and solidarity and gratitude for the public’s patience, resilience and kindness, stating that these values help the country grow and move together as one during unprecedented times.
“Together we can ensure the safety of our cherished families, friends, and communities by continuing to practice the necessary precautionary measures. As one, I know we will overcome this pandemic together,” said His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed through the SMS message sent to around 10 million residents in the UAE, around 10 percent of which are Filipinos.
The story run by The Filipino Times about His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s message trended on their Facebook and other social media platforms receiving thousands of shareds and hundreds of reactions. It garnered more than 4,000 shares within a few hours upon initial posting.

As early as April 24, a day before Ramadan officially began in the country, residents already expressed their gratitude for the UAE’s leadership as they received the message from the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince.
Among those who expressed their word of thanks was Sally Comania who said that this will be a message she will keep and treasure as she already considers the UAE as her second home.
“Yes I received it, and I’m going to keep this lovely message. I consider UAE as my second home. Thanks Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed!,” said Comania.

Some Filipinos even received the message multiple times both in Arabic and English as with the case of Imalda Ramos, who said that the message is a kind and comforting reminder that the UAE supports and keeps the welfare of both citizens and residents in mind, even more so during this time.
“Yes, I received it many times. Thank you so much for the greetings and for reminding all of us what we are facing right now. May the Lord bless us all. Thank you, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed,” said Ramos.

Abu Dhabi resident Tessie Corpuz-Gaño thanked the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and hopes for the safety of the family of the UAE’s leadership as well.
