Newborn infants named after coronavirus

Two baby girls, born amid the threat of coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19, have been given unusual names, GMA News reported.
A healthy baby girl, born in the town of Magpet in North Cotabato was named “Covid Lorraine.”

The other girl, born in the town of Isulan in Sultan Kudarat was named “Covid Rose.”
The reason the parents of the girls named them after a virus that is causing havoc in many countries around the globe is unclear. Except for the fact that the virus is indeed the “talk of the town.”

But considering their children may be teased later on because of their given names, the parents are also reportedly considering changing their names later on.
