The assessment whether the government-imposed enhanced community quarantine is an adequate policy in curbing the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) can take two weeks, says an official of the Department of Health (DOH).
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said, in a GMA News report, “Hindi pa ho natin ‘yan masasabi sa ngayon. It would take us about two weeks to really analyze data, makita natin talaga ‘yung pag-taas o pag-baba ng ating mga kaso.”

Considering that the program was just implemented, an accurate analysis is still not feasible.
The government is also still unable to foresee the rate in the increase in the number of cases because the “system has been challenged in the past few days because of the influx of tests.”
There are factors to consider such as the rate of testing and the capacity to conduct tests.

But the data would begin to stabilise with the operation of sub-national laboratories.
“Pero ngayon po as we have more kits and we have extended our capacity to other laboratories… makikita na natin ang totoong datos na papasok sa araw-araw na haharapin natin,” she said.
