Philippine Embassy in UAE celebrates International Migrants Day with community ‘Salo-Salo’

The Philippine Embassy in UAE spearheaded A Christmas and Year-End “Salo-Salo” that saw over 200 Filipino community leaders join together to celebrate their successes this 2019 as well as the International Migrants Day.

Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Hjayceelyn Quintana led the festivities as she gave a sneak preview of the ‘Bangkota’ or the Philippine Pavilion for Expo 2020. Ambassador Quintana also announced that the Philippine Embassy will be launching a portal for Expo 2020 volunteers.

Among the evening’s highlights include the musical play performance of +63Kolektib titled ‘Litanya ng mga Inang Wala sa Bayan’ that shared relatable narratives of overseas Filipino mothers each with their own unique circumstances, sacrificing their own happiness for the sake of their families back home.

Ambassador Quintana also personally congratulated each of the finalists for the recently held Mutya ng Kasambahay 2019 that saw Lorena Aranda-Castro win the crown from a pool of 13 finalists.
