The Orionids, considered one of the most beautiful meteor showers, will peak on Tuesday night, astronomers said.
With a speed of 66 kilometers, these fast meteors will leave glowing trails on the skies for at least few seconds to a minute.
Meteor showers have already manifested the night before, October 21, Monday and are expected to continue and peak tonight, October 22, Tuesday.
The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said that the Orionids meteor shower will be active from October 17 to 25.
The state weather bureau PAGASA says that the traditional peak lights take place Monday and Tuesday.
“At maximum rates, the shower may reach 15 meteors per hour that may be observed at favorable sky condition,” PAG-ASA said in an advisory.
Scientists advise to go away from street lights and city lights to see the celestial fireworks.
It may take 30 minutes before the eyes can adjust to see the meteors.
