Abu Dhabi: The UAE Interior Ministry has appealed to the public to report abuse cases immediately as it intensifies crackdown on such crimes.
In a statement, the Ministry said those who suspect child abuse, violence at home or in public can report abusers on the Ministry’s hotline “116111” or Tel 0097123333999 or on police hotline “999”.
Reports can also be made through the Ministry’s child protection website: www.moi-cpc.ae/en/Default.aspx or on e-mail [email protected]
“There are various forms of child abuse, including beating, threatening, intimidation, bullying, assault and sexual abuse. Please do not hesitate to report any such case.”
The statement said children could also be subject to molestation, abuse intimidation and blackmail online, adding that child abuse is considered a serious crime in the UAE.
