A man was found dead in Florida after he was allegedly attacked by a pack of dogs.
Highlands County Sheriff’s Office was quoted in a report by CNN that the 45-year-old Melvin Olds Jr. succumbed to more than 100 dog bites when his body was found on Thursday.
The alleged attack happened when Olds took a shortcut on that same day and never made it home alive.
According to the sheriff’s office, they captured six stray dogs in the area and they found that their bite size matches the wounds on the victim’s body.
However, they may need to get DNA samples of the captured dogs in order to match it to the DNA found on the wounds.
Sheriff Paul Blackman, in a statement, urged residents in Highway Park and the surrounding area to be on the lookout for any loose dogs, especially those that manifest aggressive behavior.
