The celebrations of the 121st Philippine Independence Day at the Dubai World Trade Centre saw more than 50,000 Filipino expats and even other nationalities in attendance, thousands of which flocked to the booth of The Filipino Times that’s celebrating their 6th year with a new jingle titled “We Are Where You Are”.
As Pinoys listened to the beat and rhythm of the song, they were given a chance to sing at a Karaoke challenge that took place every 30 minutes during the entire day. All winners who rose up to the challenge were each given a Deliveroo voucher.
“TFT is proud to have partnered with Deliveroo for the 121st Philippine Independence Day celebrations as they make sure that the Filipino community in Dubai can order their favourite Filipino food from the comfort of their homes,” said TFT’s General Manager Vince Ang.
‘Lagi ninyong karamay, nasaan man sa mundo’
The TFT jingle “We Are Where You Are” was produced in collaboration with British composer Andrew Kay, who had also worked with Filipino singers like Jessa Zaragoza. His aim is to develop more world-class Filipino talents in the UAE, one of who is Filipina singer Grei C who sang the TFT jingle.
Ang furthers that the jingle was born out of the newspapers’ resolve to stay true to its promise of being a news platform that brings OFWs closer to home, wherever they may be.
“The year 2019 is a special year for TFT as we reap the fruits not only of our success but also the very positive results of our ongoing efforts to empower Filipinos anywhere in the world. ‘We Are Where You Are’, accompanied by TFT’s anniversary video shows the drive and energy of the people behind the company that transcends beyond work,” shares Ang.
