Many people dream of living a fairy-tale-happily-ever-after kind of love story. That means settling in a comfortable life with a loving and faithful spouse, while raising their own children.
However, due to life’s circumstances, not everyone is given such happy ending. Some people think that they have already crossed paths with the person they are destined to be with, only to find out that everything will eventually crumble.
Actress Cristine Reyes and her husband Ali Khatibi are currently making headlines after speculations about their split erupted.
Many netizens claimed that the couple are no longer together after Reyes has halted from posting photos of Khatibi on her social media accounts.
The couple have neither confirmed nor denied the issue involving them, but fans are hoping that they will be able to make their marriage work.
Unlike Reyes and Khatibi, there are celebrity couples who have already confirmed their breakup this year.
Here are some celebrity couples who have decided to call it quits this 2018
Aly Borromeo and KC Concepcion
KC Concepcion revealed the true status of her relationship with Azkals captain Aly Borromeo last March 8 on Instagram.
“If the stars choose to align us together again in the future, then why not? Who knows what will happen then.
“Timing is everything. As for me, I’ve decided to fully support him at the same time move on and spread my wings,” she wrote on Instagram.
She also said in an interview with ABS-CBN that they are currently focused on things outside their relationship.
Borromeo also said that they ended their relationship on a good note and that their communication is still intact.
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan
Many say marriage in Hollywood does not last, but this was a breakup no one saw coming.
Many fans were saddened after Channing Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan called it quits last April, after 8 years of marriage.
The couple first met in 2006 when they worked together for the movie “Step Up”. They then got married in 2009.
In a joint statement, they said that they “lovingly chosen to separate as a couple”.
JC Santos and Teetin Villanueva
Actor JC Santos and stage actres Teetin Villanueva have been together for four years before revealing early this year that they have ended their relationship.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Santos said that the demands of his budding career in the entertainment industry became one of the reasons why their relationship went downhill.
“Ang tanong nila (netizens), kung third party ba. Ang sabi ko, ‘Opo, third party, at iyong third party na ‘yon ay ang career ko,” Santos said during the interview.
“Ayoko kasing maging unfair sa kaniya, dahil sobrang selfless, sobra iyong pagmamahal ni Teetin para sa akin, at naa-appreciate ko nang sobra. Nagiging unfair ako sa kanya dahil nawawalan ako ng time,” he said.
Villanueva did not disclose the true cause of their breakup but took to Instagram to say that time will reveal the truth, and that she is not willing to get back together with Santos because “he can’t be trusted”.
Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid
After two years of being together, former One Direction member Zayn Malik and supermodel Gigi Hadid ended their relationship on March 2018.
Malik took to Twitter to say that he had an “incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship” with Hadid.
For her part, Hadid said that she wants nothing but the “best for [Malik] and will continue to support him as a friend”.
Will Devaughn and Roxanne Barcelo
On January 2018, actress Roxanne Barcelo admitted that she and her boyfriend of four years, Will Devaughn, have called it quits.
Barcelo said during the sidelines of the press conference for her now-defunct show Wildflower that “little things that piled up” was the main cause of their break up.
The actress also said that she and Devaughn ended their relationship on a good note.
Barcelo also denied the rumors that Devaughn had been depending on her for financial support which caused their break up.
