Kapamilya actor Matt Evans was arrested at his home Manila earlier in connection with a child support case, Pep.ph reported.
The actor was said to have been arrested due to a child support case filed by ex-partner Johnelline Hickins, with whom he has a daughter.
According to Pep.ph’s report, Evans was surprised by the arrest as he had not received a subpoena related to the case.
The arrest warrant, according to Manila Police District, was issued by Presiding Judge Carmencita Lacandazo Logan of the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 12. The bail currently stands at PHP36,000.
Evans has yet to release an official statement regarding the arrest.
In 2012, the actor was arrested for allegedly physically hurting Hickins, with her brother Juan Alberto Carlotta coming forward as a witness. The brother said that the couple’s heated argument caused Hickins to fall down the stairs. Carlotta and Evans then got into a physical fight, and when Hickins tried to stop them, the actor reportedly ended up punching her.
