Crash Landing On You’ star secretly donates to help fight COVID-19

‘Crash Landing On You’ lead actor Hyun Bin secretly donated 200 million won (about P8.5 million) to a non-profit group Community Chest of Korea which is helping patients who contracted the newest coronavirus that has killed 2,000 people worldwide.
Earlier, her co-leading lady in the Netflix and TVN hit drama series Son Ye-jin also donated 100 million to the same NGO. Son was born and raised in Daegu, the city where the first outbreak of COVID-19 in South Korea began.
A report from the K-Pop news online Koreaboo said Hyun Bin gave his donation in the same time when wrote a letter to his agency expressing concern about the spread of the COVID-19 in Asia.
“You might be spending day after day anxious and worrying over the Coronavirus disease 2019 which is occurring all over the world and throughout Asia including China and Japan as well as Korea. I’d like to ask after your health at least by writing to express my worry over whether the place you are at is safe,” Hyun Bin wrote.
He expressed appreciation for health workers and other people engaged in the fight to spread the virus for “working tirelessly day and night” and hoped that those who have been infected to recover quickly.
“Just as we’ve always overcome difficulties by cheering each other on despite difficult times/ I hope the Coronavirus disease 2019 passes by as soon as possible,” the actor known for his role as North Korean officer Capt. Ri in the top drama series CLOY.
South Korea has registered the most number of COVID cases outside China — 5,328 with 32 deaths.
