‘Crash Landing On You’ actress donates 100M won to virus-stricken city in South Korea

Son Ye-jin, the lead actress of hit Korean drama “Crash Landing On You” donated a generous amount of money to help curb the spread of coronavirus in her virus-stricken hometown Daegu City.
The 38-year-old actress donated 100 million won (Php4.1 million) to the Daegu branch of the Community Chest of Korea, a non-profit organization, Korean pop news website Soompi reported.

“Daegu is my hometown, where I was born and raised, as well as the place where my parents live now. So it is a particularly special place for me, and the news of [the COVID-19 outbreak] in Daegu was especially heartbreaking for me,” Son said.

She hoped that her donation will “provide aid to lower-income residents who desperately need help now more than ever, as well as an aid in the treatment and prevention of COVID-19.”
According to Soompi’s report, her donation will be used to acquire medical supplies needed by the residents to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.
Daegu is the epicenter of the outbreak in South Korea with over 1,500 cases reported.
