Veteran actor-director Eddie Garcia passed away 4:55pm on Thursday. He was 90.
The medical bulletin released by Makati Medical Center stated, “We join the entire Filipino community in praying for the soul of Mr. Garcia.”
To recall, Garcia was rushed to a hospital on June 8 when he was figured in a taping accident for ‘Rosang Agimat’, an upcoming GMA teleserye.
Earlier reports said he suffered a heart attack but this was later refuted by his doctor.
It was found that Garcia sustained a cervical spine injury.
He was confined for a few days and remained under close observation before his demise.
On June 14, his family signed a do-not-resuscitate (DNR) order, which means that physicians will no longer resuscitate him when he goes into cardiac arrest.
The multi-awarded actor-director’s impressive career and longevity in showbiz span over 70 years.
