Manila, Philippines- Idol Philippines judge and actor James Reid will no longer play the iconic “Pedro Penduko,” Viva Entertainment has confirmed.
Reid will now do a remake of Korean hit “Spellbound” where his girlfriend Nadine Lustre will also play the leading lady. “Spellbound” is a Korean romantic-horror-comedy film.
“Viva Films regretfully announces that it has accepted the withdrawal of James Reid from the movie Pedro Penduko for medical reasons.
James has spinal injuries and the film Pedro Penduko involves intensive training and major stunts,” the statement read.
His management adds that his regular therapy sessions will prevent him from doing intense training for the Pedro Penduko film.
“James has spent over a year training and getting ready for this film and Viva truly appreciates his dedication and commitment to this project,” Viva added.
