Pageant fans in the Philippines are expecting that Kapuso actress Winwyn Marquez will once again join Binibining Pilipinas.
Many of them are even saying that if Maquez will join the country’s most prestigious pageant, she is already one of the front-runners.
However, the actress crushed the fans’ hopes of seeing her on the Binibining Pilipinas stage after she made it clear that she won’t be able to join.
Marquez took to Instagram to say that even though she would like to join, her existing projects and contracts hinder her from entering the pageant.
“I know that God will bring me where I should be and I will always and forever be proud to be one of your Miss Philippines,” she captioned the post.
Marquez explained that the pageant organizers have strict rules about existing contracts that are against the nature of the competition.
Nevertheless, she said that she is grateful for the support she has been receiving from pageant fans.
It can be recalled that Marquez first competed in Binibining Pilipinas in 2015. Pia Wurtzbach took home the Miss Universe Philippines crown, while Marquez ended up in the Top 15.
After competing in Binibining Pilipinas, Marquez competed in Miss World Philippines 2017. She won the Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas crown.
She also won the Reina Hispanoamericana pageant which took place in Bolivia making her the first Filipina to win the crown.
