Sharon Cuneta is known for her generous nature but Regine Velasquez did not expect that she will be receiving a really special gift from the Megastar herself.
Velasquez was left in shock after Cuneta unexpectedly gave her a diamond-encrusted cocktail ring which, according to the Megastar, is the most expensive gift she has given to anyone.
Velasquez shared the stage with Cuneta for a duet during her concert titled “Regine At The Movies” last Saturday at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.
As they were singing Cuneta’s classic hit song, “Bituing Walang Ningning”, Velasquez received the said ring from the former.
“Pinakamahal na regalong nabigay ko sa buhay ko ‘to. Masha-shock yung mga kasama ko sa likod!” Cuneta said as she handed Velasquez the ring.
After the Asia’s Songbird received the gift, she said in jest, “Pwede bang isangla ‘to?”, which drew laughter from Cuneta but she pleaded her not to do so.
“Sometimes, I get this feeling na I want to give… but it’s the most expensive gift I’ve ever given anyone,” Cuneta said.
The Megastar then whispered to the ring and jokingly said, “I’ll miss you. I love you so much!”
When Cuneta asked Velasquez if she also has a gift for her, the latter said, “Meron, meron akong ibibigay! Ibibigay ko na sa ‘yo yung asawa ko kapalit nito [ng ring]!”
The ring that Cuneta gave Velasquez, which is a double-finger ring covered in diamonds and features a flower design, has been with her for the past ten years.
It was made by Cuneta’s friend Candy Dizon of Jul B. Dizon jewelry. The ring is a customized version of Kim Cattrall’s ring from the movie “Sex and the City.”
