Vogue features Kelsey Merritt after Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut

Vogue, one of the biggest fashion magazines in the world, featured Filipina model Kelsey Merritt after she slayed the runway of Victoria’s Secret Fashion show for the first time.

Merritt made history by becoming the first-ever Filipina to walk on the said show last November 9 (Manila time).

The said fashion show was held at Pier 94 in New York City and the Pampanga-based model walked during the PINK segment of the show, which is Victoria’s Secret line for young women.

Since her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut, Merritt has been uploading her experiences on her Instagram account.

The televised version of the show will be aired on December 2 on US television channel ABS.

After the fashion show, Merritt was featured on the Instagram and website of Vogue, with the fashion magazine dubbing her as “not your average Victoria’s Secret model”.

“The 22-year-old is the first Filipino to ever walk the iconic lingerie label’s runway, a victory she shares with the country where she was born and raised until she moved to New York City last year,” the caption reads.

In the said feature, Merritt gave out some of her beauty secrets and makeup routine, and shared some stories on how she was able to book a modeling job with the famous lingerie brand.

“It means a lot to me and the people back home because they’ve always wanted a Philippine model to walk. It’s not just success for me—it’s also success for them,” she said in the video.

Because of her Vogue feature, Merritt joined the group of famous Hollywood stars and models who have shared their beauty secrets as well. Some of them include Kendall Jenner, Adriana Lima, Rita Ora, Miranda Kerr, Priyanka Chopra, Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashley Graham, Victoria Beckham, Rihanna, and Kylie Jenner.

Merritt also shared her excitement after her Vogue featured was posted online. “I never imagined I would ever work with Vogue, so this is another one off of my bucket list! I’m in tears of joy right now!” he wrote on Instagram.
