Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez finally broke her silence about her transfer to the Kapamilya network.
Velasquez has received a mixed a bag of reactions ever since it was confirmed that she has decided to part ways with GMA-7 wherein she worked for the past two decades.
Through a post on her Twitter account, the famous singer said that she is grateful for the people who still support her and that she hopes her fans will continue to do so.
“Para sa lahat ng sumusuporta sa akin, maraming-maraming salamat sa pagtatanggol nyo sakin, naging kasama ko kayo sa lahat ng pinagdadaan ko. Sana wag kayong magsawa. Love you guys thank you again,” she said.

Velasquez’s tweet came after a network executive of GMA-7 confirmed in a statement on Saturday, October 13, that the singer is officially signing off from the said media network.
“After two decades, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid has officially said her goodbyes to the Kapuso Network. We understand her decision to join her husband and we wish her well as she pursues other opportunities outside GMA Network,” Senior Vice President for GMA Entertainment Content Group Lilybeth Rasonable said in a statement.
On that same day, Velasquez became emotional during the 6th anniversary episode of “Sarap Diva” wherein she delivered an emotional message to her colleagues and the network she worked with for the past two decades.
Amid the news, ABS-CBN issued a statement that one of Velasquez’s first project as a Kapamilya artist will be her appearance in the overseas show of its variety program, ASAP.
According to a press release posted on the Facebook page of The Filipino Channel – Australia dated October 12, Velasquez will be joining her husband Ogie Alcasid in the “ASAP Live in Sydney” show which will take place on October 20 at the ICC Sydney Theater.
“This marks the first time the best-selling OPM artist of all time will be part of an ASAP live event overseas,” the statement reads.
