LOOK: Maine Mendoza shares life as chef abroad before she entered showbiz

Maine Mendoza might be one of the brightest stars in the Philippine show business today, but prior to her fame, she has also experienced working abroad as part of her internship when she was still a student.

Mendoza recently took to Instagram to share some throwback photos of herself when she worked as a chef at The Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing, New York.

The Sagamore is a chain of luxurious hotels with history that dates back to the 1880s.

“Missing the kitchen life at Sagamore!” she captioned the series of photos.

Mendoza previously wrote on her personal blog that she spent six months in the United States for her internship at the said hotel and resort and even described it as “the highlight of [her] 2014.”

She said that she manned the omelette station and had to wake up at 4:00 in the morning to start her work.

“Basically I just want to say that I had a really good time in the course my internship and my whole stay in the United States. I am so glad I was able to experience things that I never thought I would.

“New York just gave me good memories to last a lifetime. Everything that took place in Bolton Landing was just too remarkable– and I will never get tired of being nostalgic about it. If I could only just turn back time, I definitely would,” Mendoza said.
