Film director Cathy Garcia Molina recently gave an update on John Lloyd Cruz who has taken a hiatus from the show business.
The esteemed director said in an interview with PhilStar that she only has three more films to direct before taking a break from directing.
Molina said that the first of the three films will be the one with Sharon Cuneta, Richard Gomez, and Kathryn Bernardo, while the second one will feature Piolo Pascual.
When asked about her third and last movie, Molina answered, “I’m hoping na I’ll do it with John Lloyd, but I don’t know if he’s ready”.
Molina simply said that she is happy with whatever is going on with Cruz’ life at the moment and that she would not want to force him to do a showbiz comeback if he is not yet ready for it.
“Right now, all I know, John Lloyd is living a happy life. Ba’t naman natin tatanggalin sa tao ‘yung pagiging happy? Ako rin naman pupunta sa happy life, ‘di ba? I also want that peaceful happy life, so who am I to take it away from him? Ako I always respect his decision kung san siya masaya, e ‘di dun,” PhilStar quoted Molina as saying.
The “How’s of Us” director also added that Cruz will not leave show business for good and that he just need time to rest.
“Siguro kailangan lang niya magpahinga, parang ako. Hindi ko naman totally iiwan ang industriya, magpapahinga lang muna. Si John Lloyd parang parte na natin ‘yan eh. Nandyan lang yan,” she said.
Molina also said that Cruz’ acting is simply incomparable adding that he is one of the best actors today.
“I miss him so much, I miss him as a friend, but I am very happy na happy siya,” she said.
Molina and Cruz have worked on several films together including “A Very Special Love”, “One More Chance”, “It Takes a Man and a Woman”, at “You Changed My Life”.
Cruz has temporarily left the limelight after reports about his girlfriend Ellen Adarna’s pregnancy started to spread. Both he and Adarna have kept a low profile since then.
Previous reports have stated that Adarna has already given birth but the celebrity couple has not yet released a statement on when they will be coming back to showbiz.
