Amid speculations that she will run for an elective post in next year’s midterm elections, Kris Aquino cleared the air by saying that she does not aspire to run for any political post.
In an Instagram post, Kris responded to Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV’s statement that the TV host would win should she decide to seek a post in the Senate.
The TV host said she will not be running for any elective post next year saying her contracts with her endorsements “specifically state that [she] won’t seek any elective post in 2019,” and that she should “refrain from any divisive political statements except when defending honor & dignity of family.”
Kris added that she fears breaking her word by not following the demands stated in her contracts with her endorsements.
The TV host said she is grateful toward the companies who continue to believe in her credibility and trustworthiness as an endorser.
Earlier, Senator Aquino, Kris’ cousin, said the TV host is very much welcome in the Senate. I think she’d be very welcome in the Senate,” Bam said.
The senator recalled telling Kris: “At this point na winnable ka at kaya mo manindigan, you’re more than welcome in the opposition slate. Kailangan namin ‘yan.”
