Vice Ganda is one of the most popular performers and comedians today. In his weekly late night show Gandang Gabi Vice, it is hard to see a member of the audience who is not laughing or without a smile on his or her face.
For the show’s seventh anniversary, TV host Boy Abunda served as the episode’s guest. Instead of the usual set-up where Vice Ganda interviews his guests while entertaining the audience, Abunda put Vice Ganda in the hot seat and asked him a series of questions about his childhood, as shown in a video uploaded by ABS-CBN.
When asked to share a message to his younger self, Tutoy, Vice Ganda had an emotional response.
“Kung makakausap ko si Tutoy, gusto ko itanong sa kanya ngayon kung, ‘Masaya ka ba sa kung anong ginawa ko sa buhay ni Tutoy,’” Vice Ganda said.
Abunda then asked how much of Tutoy is still in Vice’s current self.
“I will forever be Tutoy, Tito Boy. That will never change. I will forever remain to be Tutoy,” Vice Ganda answered.
He further explained that Tutoy is his mother’s ‘source of joy’.
“Tutoy is my Nanay’s happiness. Kaya hindi pwedeng mawala si Tutoy. Pwedeng mawala si Vice Ganda pero hindi pwede si Tutoy because Tutoy is my Nanay’s love. Tutoy is my Nanay’s source of joy. I will forever be Tutoy, I will always want to be Tutoy, I will always go back to be Tutoy,” Vice Ganda said.
“Kaya ayoko pa mawala si Tutoy kasi hindi pwedeng mawala yung kasiyahan ng nanay ko because that’s the most important thing in this world. Kahit tanggalin na ng Diyos itong suot ko, itong buhok ko, yung alahas ko, boyfriend, wala na akong pakialam. Wag Niya lang tatanggalin yung kasiyahan ng nanay ko. That’s the most important thing. I love you (Nanay),” an emotional Vice Ganda said.
As the comedian sheds a few tears, his mother rose from her seat in the audience to give Vice Ganda a hug.
“We’re happy and we will be happier. I love you,” Vice Ganda told his mother.
