Singers Jake Zyrus and Jessica Sanchez are creating online buzz because of their rendition of Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion’s song “The Prayer”.
Sanchez is currently in the Philippines for a number of showbiz commitments, including Zyrus’ Music & Me concert, where she was one of the guest performers, together with Iñigo Pascual and Kyla.
While everyone is well aware that both singers have the vocal skills to give justice to the Bocelli and Dion hit, many were surprised when Zyrus took the stage to sing Bocelli’s part of the song.
Zyrus, who has admitted to taking medications that boost male hormones, has developed a deep, full voice.
When she arrived in the Philippines, Sanchez already expressed that she supports Zyrus in his transformation.
“It’s normal to me, it didn’t affect me that big. I’m just really happy to support him in his journey,” Sanchez said in an interview with ABS-CBN.
Both Zyrus and Sanchez made a name for themselves in Hollywood.
Zyrus was once called “The Most Talented Girl in the World” by media mogul Oprah Winfrey, and has released a number of songs in the United States including “Pyramid” and “Louder”.
On the other hand, Sanchez became the runner-up of the eleventh season of American Idol. Since then, she has performed and collaborated with famous international artists like Ne-Yo, Jennifer Lopez, and Zedd.
Zyrus and Sanchez have both performed before former US president Barack Obama and have appeared on the hit show “Glee”.
A few days ago, Sanchez became a trending topic on Twitter because of another duet which she did on ASAP with Morissette Amon. They sang Demi Lovato’s “Stone Cold”.
