Fans who have been asking if presidential son Baste Duterte wants to join showbiz might just not wait anymore.
29-year old Baste will be featured in “Lakbai”, an adventure and travel reality show on TV5 network.
“Wala eh. Hindi ko mapigilan kasi, ‘di ba? Nagdecide na lang ako to try showbiz,” he said during the launching of the show. (I can’t help it. I can’t stop it, isn’t it? I just decided to try showbiz.)
Baste said the network did not find a hard time in convincing him to join.
“They didn’t convince me. It’s my decision. The money would be wasted if I don’t get it. That’s all there is to it,” he said in a mix of Filipino and English.
He jokingly said he would just go back to Davao if it doesn’t work out for him.
Baste has been admired by netizens, apparently because of his good looks. Aside from being a traveler, he takes pleasure in surfing and music.
“Lakbai” is a wordplay of the Filipino term “lakbay” which means “travel”. It also came from the Visayan phrase “lakaw ta, bai” or “let’s go, friend”. The show will air on May 21 after the PBA show.
