MANILA — Filipino singer Ivy Grace Paredes has earned the approval of the judges on the newest season of “The X Factor UK.”
Paredes sang Whitney Houston’s “All The Man That I Need.” She’s 33 years old from Malaybalay, Bukidnon and received four “yes” votes from the judges the show’s third week of auditions.
“It was amazing. You’re like a little diva,” Judge Louis Walsh said.
“It was incredible the second half of that song! Incredible! One of the best we’ve had,” Simon Cowell said.
“Everybody comes in here and say ‘we want it so bad, I’m fighting for it’ but that right there is called wanting it and fighting for it,” Nichole Scherzinger added.
“You did yourself proud,” Sharon Osbourne commented.
According to Paredes, she was inspired to try her luck on the British talent contest after watching the Filipino girl group 4th Impact. “I got really inspired that if they can make it, I can make it too,” said Paredes, who dedicated her “battle” to her daughter.
Paredes will be moving on to the Bootcamp round of the singing competition. Prior to joining “The X Factor UK,” Paredes also appeared in a talent contest in the Philippines.
