It all started when a photographer in Lucban, Quezon thought he and his kin would pay tribute to their hardworking grandmother on her 80th birthday through a photoshoot showing her in a “Wonder Woman” costume.
Ronn Unlayao said his Lola Segunda still farms the land despite her age, which made the superhero get-up quite appropriate.
“Flex ko lang ang lola naming walang kapaguran, nanghihina daw siya pag nasa bahay lang at walang ginagawa. Sa edad na 80, nagsasaka pa rin. Nanay Gunda, ang tunay na Wonder Woman,” Unlayao said in a post on Facebook.
He added that they organized the photo shoot last February 2019. They presented her photos during her birthday bash last December 28.
The photographer added they made sure the gap between the photoshoot and her birthday would be long enough for her to be clueless about it when they surprise her.
“We told her na it’s a project for our tito kaya siya napapayag. Ang hindi niya alam, gagamitin pala ito para sa 80th birthday niya kaya wala munang naglabas ng photos,” Unlayao said.
