MANILA: An overseas Filipino worker in Saudi Arabia who was scheduled to come home this month was fatally stabbed by a fellow Filipino.
In a statement on Oct. 2, the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed the death of the victim, a 29-year-old family driver in Jeddah, who was about to fly home to his province in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on October 5.
The Philippine Consulate General said the suspect, 34, also worked as a private driver for the same employer as the victim.
The two had a spat in front of their employer’s house on Sunday, Sept. 30. Their brawl ended up in the death of the victim who was fatally stabbed.
The suspect is now under the custody of the police in Jeddah.
