Actress-comedienne Pokwang revealed she is expecting her first child with American boyfriend Lee O’Brian on June 16.
Pokwang’s manager Ogie Diaz spilled the beans on the pregnancy when he posted this message on Facebook, “Congrats, Marietta Subong aka POKWANG! Buntis ka na! Yan na yon! Ibibigay na yan ni Lord sa inyo ni Lee O’Brian. Claim it!”
In an interview with PEP.ph, Pokwang confirmed she is seven weeks pregnant at the age of 44. In a Twitter post, the actress clarified she is 44, after some news articles claimed she is 46. She also thanked her fans who have expressed happiness and support.
Meanwhile, in a phone interview with ABS-CBN, O’Brian said he learned about Pokwang’s pregnancy only a week ago. He added that the doctor advised his girlfriend to take a full bed rest.
“She’s doing well. She’s resting. She’s currently at seventh week and required to do bed rest. I don’t know for how many weeks but I know she’s withdrawn from all of her shows or commitments,” ABS-CBN quoted O’Brian as saying.
Pokwang and O’Brian met while working on the set of the movie Edsa Woolworth. Pokwang confirmed their relationship in January 2015. Seven months later, she revealed she suffered a miscarriage.
