Shows and street entertainment at Dubai’s Global Village have been suspended beginning Feb. 3 “until further notice”.

The famous theme park also announced that their firework shows are cancelled for the next two weeks.

This is in line with the Dubai Government’s recent safety precautions against the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

Global Village, in a tweet, said the rest of the part is still operating “with world-class safety measures in place”.

“We invite you to enjoy our open air shopping, dining, rides and attractions from 4pm daily,” it said.

Their Mission Speed stunt show will also continue to operate while it implements socially-distanced seating.

It was only in October 2020 when the theme park returned operation for its silver jubilee season.

The Dubai government has strictly imposed measures aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19.

Earlier this week, it announced the temporary closure of pubs and bars until the end of the month.

Venues for entertainment activities like cinemas and including sports facilities will operate at 50 percent capacity.

Malls are ordered to operate only at 70 percent capacity.

Restaurants and cafes are required to close at 1am.

Hotels are only allowed at 70 percent capacity and new bookings should comply with the capacity limit.

The same also applies to swimming pools as well as private beaches in hotels.

Those who failed to comply may be facing tougher penalties.
