Katy Perry gives birth to first child with Orlando Bloom

Hollywood singer Katy Perry has given birth to her first child with Orlando Bloon on August 26.

In a statement on Perry’s Instagram post, the betrothed couple shared the good news as well as announced their daughter’s name, Daisy Dove Bloom.

“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” they said in a statement.

“But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19, many more newborn lives are at risk because of a greater lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever,” added the couple.

The two also announced that they have also established a donation page at United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)—in which they serve as Goodwill Ambassadors—for kids around the world, on behalf of their newborn daughter.

Perry and Bloom got engaged in February 2019 after years of on-and-off romance.
