I believe that the UAE authorities are effectively taking action to protect the safety and well-being of citizens, residents, and visitors all over the country, They have shown their commitment by providing medical and food assistance to people affected by the disease. The leaders’ groundbreaking initiatives make the UAE successful in fighting the disease.

The UAE government has set the bar high in terms of managing COVID-19, establishing precautionary measures that ensure the safety of everyone. While it has relaxed its timings in line with the National Disinfection Program, the country still strictly implements punishments and fines for those violating the curfew. Some of its public places have started reopening, but stern measures are still in place—such as wearing of masks and physical distancing, among others.

This is the first time that I’ve experienced such a kind of crisis in the UAE. However, I think the government is doing in terms of managing the disease and alleviating its spread. While there are still a lot of violators, in general, the government is doing great.

Last March, I almost got locked down in the Philippines due to the pandemic. I can only express my joy that I was able to return to the UAE just in time before travel restrictions took place, because I was able to somehow compare all the safety measures being done by both countries. In my opinion, the UAE is the safest place to live. The country has been very committed when it comes to their guidelines and safety regulations, ensuring the well-being of every citizen and resident.
In terms of the UAE’s fight against the disease, I think we are halfway towards beating it, but I believe the country will succeed only if we keep on strictly following all the safety measures they have implemented. I think the success must also start from all of us. This pandemic is a reminder that we are all connected, and what we do has an effect on others.

As expected, the UAE has set yet again high standards on fighting COVID-19. Their initiatives against the disease are commendable—from rigorous mass testing, free treatments, high quality facilities, food programs, down to psychological support. Truly, they have been amazing in managing the crisis and supporting their people. The disease has taken a toll on many people all over the world, especially expats who have lost their jobs. So, the reopening of the economy, along with strictly implemented precautionary measures, provides a ray of light for businesses and employees. The number of new cases is going down, and there are even days when the recoveries are higher than new infections. This proves that the UAE is doing great, and while it is still early to say, I believe that this country will be successful in the battle against COVID-19.
