After months of being mum about the status of her marriage with mixed martial artist Ali Khatibi, actress Cristine Reyes has finally given an honest answer on her relationship with her husband.
In an interview with ANC’s “Headstart,” Reyes indirectly said that they are now separated but they have chosen to be “civil” with each other.
She added that regardless of what’s going on in their marriage, they have decided to be in good terms for the sake of their daughter Amarah.
“We’re civil. We’re in good terms, especially with things we have to do when it comes to Amarah,” she said.
Reyes also gave her two cents about marriage saying that it should last forever but there are circumstances when separation is inevitable.
“Ideally, it shouldn’t end, but it depends on the circumstances… But for me, if you’re not happy, you should do something about it,” she added.
According to previous reports, Reyes revealed that she is the sole provider for the needs of Amarah which led many to speculate that Khatibi is not helping her financially ever since they have reportedly separated.
It can be recalled that last year several entertainment websites speculated that Reyes and Khatibi might be going through marital problems as the latter was rarely seen on the actress’ social media posts.
Before that, Reyes also shared a cryptic post on Instagram. In the now-deleted post, the actress prayed for her marriage with Khatibi.
Reyes and Khatibi were last seen together during the Christmas party of their daughter last year.
